Balance, my foot. I have lived in Princeton, Borough and Township, for 34 years, and have always supported open space and environmental preservation in every possible way. I am astonished, therefore, to discover that Friends of Princeton Open Space has agreed to let New Jersey's most aggressive developer, Bryce Thompson, build dozens of luxury houses on some of Princeton's most ecologically and historically valuable lands--the 92 acres atop Mount Lucas, bordering Herrontown Road and Herrontown Lane. If FPOS retained any vestige of principle, it would have fought to make this magnificent parcel the keystone of Ridge greenspace for all to enjoy, not least because the populations nearest its beauties include hundreds of lower-income residents and seniors. I urge all with a genuine interest in Princeton preservation, therefore, to request a full and public accounting of this remarkable failure of stewardship before donating a penny more to FPOS.
