For 40 years, FOPOS has worked quietly behind the scenes to preserve open space. Below are some of its accomplishments. Click here for more information.


Forestalled proposed development which would have destroyed historic farmlands and woodlands.


Instrumental in preserving and monitoring Woodfield Reservation. 


Helped form and fund the Delaware & Raritan Greenway Alliance.


Raised funds for completion of Turning Basin Park on the D&R Canal.


Raised over $350,000 for the acquisition of a permanent conservation easement on the lands of the Institute for Advanced Study Woods.


Contributed $300,000 for the acquisition of Greenway Meadows Park (former R.W. Johnson Estate).


Contributed $100,000 for the acquisition of a substantial portion of Coventry Farm.


Acquisition of Mountain Lakes Nature Preserve and Mountain Lakes House.
