Join Friends of Princeton Open Space for LOVE Your Park Day at the Billy Johnson Mountain Lakes Nature Preserve in Princeton, New Jersey.
During this volunteer work session we will celebrate our LOVE for nature with a beautification project along the driveway entrance to the nature preserve. Volunteers will work under the guidance of our Natural Resource Manager to identify and remove target invasive species from this woodland edge as well as free native trees and shrubs from encroaching vines.
Come spring, the area we cleared will be available to host native wildflowers, birds, butterflies, and other wildlife that depend on the habitat they co-evolved with.
Please pre-register via Eventbrite.com to help us plan for attendance.
We recommend wearing long sleeves, long pants, and good work boots and to layer up depending on the temperature. We will provide all of the necessary tools including work gloves, loppers, saws, and pruners. However, feel free to bring your own tools, if you prefer.
All ages welcome -- children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent.
In addition to pre-registering via eventbrite, if you have not volunteered with us before, we need a completed waiver form located on our website. Please click here to complete the volunteer form (simply add "LOVE Your Park" to the Other Information section) and complete the waiver form below the volunteer form.
