Join Us for a Fall Seed Walk!
Embrace the spirit of stewardship with our Fall Seed Walk! This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with nature, learn about native plants, and contribute to our forest and riparian restoration projects.
Join our stewardship team as we venture into the preserve, collecting seeds from an array of vibrant native plants. Look forward to discovering how to gather seeds from plants that may include hibiscus, milkweed, flowering dogwood, button bush, oaks, lobelias, and ironweed.
After our walk, we’ll head back to the Mountain Lakes House for some hands-on fun! You’ll help us process and bag the seeds we’ve collected. These seeds will be stored over the winter, ready to be propagated next year and planted in our habitat restoration sites. Plus, we’ll have plenty for you to take home and plant in your own garden!
Each seed tells a story, and together we’ll explore their roles in supporting our ecosystem. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or a curious beginner, this event promises to be a delightful blend of education, community, and connection to the natural world.
Don’t miss out on this chance to make a difference! Sign up today and let’s celebrate the season together!
