FOPOS seeks a part-time program coordinator to work directly with FOPOS’s Director of Natural Resources and Stewardship to manage the organization’s year-round volunteer stewardship program and community events series. The selected candidate should be detail-oriented and able to manage emails, databases, program messaging and schedules as well as improve upon existing systems and workflow. Ideally, the program coordinator will be an enthusiastic person supportive of and tapped into land stewardship and preservation within the greater Princeton area. Web design skills, and experience in fundraising or marketing and promoting a business are a plus. This is an administrative job that offers flexibility in location, with the ideal candidate available to participate in regular in-person meetings and work sessions, as well as be present for key events located at the Billy Johnson Mountain Lakes Nature Preserve in Princeton, NJ.
This is an ongoing position that has the potential to grow with the right candidate, and is suitable for professionals as well as recent graduates with applicable skill sets.
Compensation: $25-28/hour, depending on experience. This is a part-time position through December 2024, with a work commitment of approximately 10 hours per week depending on the organization’s needs.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Manage the organization’s digital database, ensuring an active, engaged and growing list of volunteers and event participants
Collaborate with the Director of Natural Resources and Stewardship to develop and maintain a calendar of events (both public-facing and team-facing), keeping new and existing volunteers and event participants informed about opportunities with FOPOS
Provide timely, engaging messaging for email marketing, press releases, newsletters, and social media posts to promote FOPOS’s programming and build community and relationships in the Princeton area
Maintain files and records related to FOPOS events, including the tracking of volunteer hours related to projects and storage of photos and videos from events
Field incoming volunteer and event inquiries and registrations, as well as recruit new participants
Schedule volunteer events for community, corporate, and school groups in coordination with FOPOS’s Director of Natural Resources and Stewardship
Desired Skills/Qualifications:
Excellent interpersonal, written, computer, and verbal communication skills
Proficient in using Gmail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Workspace
Ability to use Eventbrite, Squarespace, and Mailchimp and/or other relevant marketing tools and databases
Familiarity with posting content and interacting over Facebook and Instagram social media platforms
Interest in land stewardship, preservation, and community-building
Detail-oriented, focused, and organized
Must have your own computer to work from with internet access
